You know you are cooking healthy when your kids say, "yes! The vegetables, my favorite part!" I guess the fish and squash were not pleasing to their little palets. lol

We read the scriptures at breakfast this morning and Mikaylah raised her hand, saying: ooo, ooo, me next! :) it was a good morning.

Perfect Sunday

October 14-21
Monday, I finished sewing my girls Halloween costumes: a pink fairy, a bride and Fancy Nancy! Oh just you wait to see these little cuties all dressed up!

Wednesday I went to Tsadakah's Show What You Know! Mike was able to come with me and I loved that because he was able to see first hand how wonderful the school is. He was equally impressed that the children all know both verses of the National Anthem. And once again, I cried! It is so beautiful! Emotional!
Tsadakah performed a song about the Ice Age that the class learned and I had that songs chorus stuck in my head for 3 days after! But all I could remember was one small part! lol
Thursday I taught my last Fascinating Womanhood class. I loved every minute of doing that class and I bonded with the women who were there for me supporting me. I really am so happy for their happiness in the success stories that they have shared. I myself learned a TON! I am not perfect at it, but I will never stop trying. All my life I will admire Helen Andelin
Friday my friend Joanna came to my yoga class and then stayed over for a play date. It was so fun, like old times. She helped me do my posters for Super Saturday and we were giggling like school girls about a whole lot of nonsense. :)
Sunday was a special day! Tsadakah crawled in bed with me in the morning as I was reading my scriptures. We snuggled and talked. It was an especially good morning and I was extremely happy. MiKaylah came in and we had a tickle fight. :) Then Tsadakah reminded me that I had promised to make Breakfast cake for Breakfast. So all three of them helped me bake this cake. Tsadakah wanted the frosting to be orange for Halloween! Yep, she's my daughter! :) I love my girls and I believe that it is the small, unplanned moments that make life worth living. I used to want to be super mom to all the world, but now I just want to be the best mom in the eyes of my children.

Activity Days

October 7-13 was a busy week for me!! I did a lot of baking, finished my food challenge, put on Enrichment, cut hair, babysat for people in need, and had my mom over for a walk-a-thon at Tsadakah's school.

My weight loss challenge was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone! I didn't reach my goal, probably because it was reaching for the SUN, over expectations of what is realistic. ( I do that a lot) But in reaching for the sun I achieved the stars! I lost 6% of my body weight and I learned a ton about myself and my abilities of self control. I learned that I can eat out and still stay on my track and that I don't have to have a mentality of bigger is better.

For enrichment we did a pie night. I did a demonstration on how to make a perfect pie crust. The Relief Society president did one on how to make a fresh, unbaked Peach Pie. We also had people bring pies of all varieties for ladies to sample in preparation for Thanksgiving.

Tsadakah's school did a walk-a-thon, which I loved! I know that 100% of the money raised goes exactly to the item that they said they were raising for. Tsadakah did amazing and raised $100 which is a lot for a 1st grader! The school got even more than what they were hoping for so I am so excited. It is neat to be able to see all the things that you helped to bring about. Unfortunately, they got rained out and had to reschedule even though my mom came all the way out to see her walk. I felt so sorry for her. But I am so glad to have a wonderful mother (and father) who go out of their way to support my children!

On Saturday I was asked to help out at an Activity Days Super Saturday. They asked me to talk about the Word of Wisdom and demonstrate some exercise, like Yoga. I agreed and Mike took the kids to the zoo for a Daddy-Daughters date while I was there for 4 hours. I taught the girls how to look at food and think about it in terms of what is this food going to do inside my body. For example, a carbohydrate is going to turn into a sugar. Then I tought them about how to check their pulse, We also did some yoga, which I think was their favorite part. I'm glad that I did it.

Sunday I subbed in Tsadakah's class. I taught about keeping the sabbath day holy. It was a fun lesson to teach and we actually went over. lol. I personally learned from it too! I liked being there with Tsadakah again.

General Confrence Weekend

This General Conference Weekend was awesome cause we had a full house! My sister, Simcah, came to visit on Thursday to go to the Utes game. We hung out all morning and she helped me do some landscaping work on my front yard. She is full of great ideas too! She helped me with it all and I appreciate it so much! She also helped me decorate my mantle all Halloween! see the pretty jar with the branches sticking out? She helped me do that. :) On Friday we baked all day, making 2 different kinds of zucchini bread. Chocolate and carrot muffin, to be exact. She also got these pictures of the babies bathing.Right now Tsadakah is into crafting. I told her that if she would get her homework done we would do one craft each day after school. So we have paper mached bottles miking them into skulls and we made these cute little ghosts out of dryer sheets. We also made some Halloween cards for her to give out to her friends. It has been fun, time consuming and...I am running out of ideas. :) I love how happy it makes her though.

Also, see the Frankenstein in the top picture? Tsadakah said, "I can wait to see uncle Chris's scared face when he sees how scary your Frankenstein is, Mom." haha that made me laugh a lot.

Friday Stefanie and family showed up and we all ate together. I made Chicken Pot Biscuits. Everyone loved them. We put the kids to bed and stayed up until all hours of the night laughing and telling funninesses. :)

Saturday we had a big breakfast and then Simcah and family went home. We were sad to see them leave.

We got ready for pictures while watching the first session. Then we took these fun pictures between sessions. I have a lot of photographer friends and they are all complaining about how busy they are right now with family shoots and edits. I am really glad that I am not a pro. lol. It takes the pressure off.

I took more of Stefanie's family, but I haven't edited them yet so...
After the men got home from priesthood session we went to Asylum 49. A haunted house here in Tooele. We all went last year and it scared the pants off all of us! we were really excited, but this year we felt that it wasn't as scary. :( We still had fun and made memories. Mike jumped out at me and scared me so bad I hit my elbow. And then another time I got scared was by the character of Jack the Ripper scraping on a wall as he walked slowly beside me. Then just as I was going into the next room he breathed down my neck. Eeeekkk!

General Conference is on of my favorite...holidays? lol I do love it and I feel like every time it comes up the week before I am really needing a boost! I always feel spiritually fed by the talks and uplifted. My favorite talk was Jeffery R. Holland's talk. He knows how to make the scriptures come alive. They seem so real and you feel almost as if you were there yourself, looking into the eyes of your Savior! It was amazing and its message meant so much to me.
Also, the news about the ages being changed for missionaries touched me more than I expected. I started crying. I am not a feminist at all. I think that a woman is most empowered when she is where God wants her to be, in the home. But every once in a while I am shocked when I feel emotional and proud of the influence womanhood has in society. I don't know why but Amelia Earhart makes me emotional and so did this. I know in my heart that this change was truly inspired. I love President Monson and I support him in everything that he declares. :)

Items From The Past

I had to go through my pictures the other day and back them up. I love looking at my pictures from forever ago, but it also makes me feel like I need to be a lot more organized. While I was sorting through them I found some pictures that I realized I had never blogged, but that I really can't do without them. :)
This is a picture that the Nursery leader text me. This is Eliannah and Lisa's daughter, Milana, in the toy bucket. Silly little ladies! Probably Ellie's idea. :)
These are the crowns that I made for Eliannah's birthday. They were in the party favors bags posted earlier, but I wanted these pictures of just them posted cause I was rather proud of the way that they turned out and that I made the idea and design 100% myself!
Here is the close up of the little frog craft that we did at Ellie's party. He is so cute that even I want to play with him!
This was Tsadakah on the day that I volunteered at the school for a Christmas party. I love that because it is a Charter school they are able to call it a Christmas party! May God preserve our rights and our religion for it is what has made us free! They simply frosted graham crackers to a milk carton! So easy! Way better than having to try to keep it up without it falling over.
This was the Thanksgiving Show What You Know, where the parents are invited to come and see what the kids have learned in that last weeks/months. That smile is so darling! She did so great and I am impressed with what they learned how they sang songs to remember what they learned.

This app was a fun thing on my phone that made cute filters for the pictures. Eliannah is always happy and always LOUDLY laughing. She is a jewel in our treasure box and we love her!

MiKaylah is quite girlie. All my girls have been and I am proud of that, but she takes the cake. Its all makeup and fashion accessories!

Two little sisters getting their lunch!
This picture makes me laugh. She is a funny little cutie. I believe that she thought this was a headband.
 I LOVE this dress!
This was last year close to Christmas. She just kept taking dogs off the shelves and playing them. She really wanted doggies! Oh she is so cute!
Last year my dad had compiled some family names to take to the temple. It was pretty special to get to go with the name of someone you are related too. I try to imagine the people there in the room with me. Then when we were done we went to a quiet meeting room where they allowed us to watch a video of the people we had done the work for on a laptop. This silly little picture was us piling into my car while we were waiting for others to come cause it was cold outside! We had all the empty car seats piled up on top of each other. These are my parents, Marsha & Steve.

Lagoon and Water Park

I can't believe that I forgot to mention that we went to SevenPeaks and Lagoon (2X) this summer too! It has become a tradition to go to both of these each year with Mike's sisters, Debbie and Stefanie, and their families. It is really fun and we LOVE the extra help with our kiddos!

SevenPeaks was first and it was so fun! We started in the lazy river and went around for like an hour. Then we started breaking into groups and going on some of the adult rides. When I was with Debbie I dared her to go backwards on the Boomerang, AND SHE DID IT! lol It was super exciting.
After lunch about half of the group wanted to go home so they took the youngest ones with them and we were able to go on more adult rides. I did the Boomerang backwards too! It was so fun!! I recommend it to all. I spent time in the kiddie pool with my kids and also went on some rides that they could ride too. We went down the racing one literally about a dozen times and my kids couldn't get enough of it. They kept saying, "Again!"
I was also FORCED to go on the orange slide that goes straight down, FACE FIRST! It was the scariest thing that I have even done! I can't believe that I did it and they had to seriously block the way back down cause I was so willing to walk the walk of shame!

So Lagoon was equally as fun! Although I got totally sick that day! Let me start at the beginning. :)
So that was a Friday and I was scheduled to teach our turn of Summer Reading Club (a totally awesome idea that Lisa had and organized.)

I did the book, All Join In. It is a poetry book that is fun and will make you laugh out loud. We read the book and then organized activities, including: homemade instruments, Red Rover, Friendship Tag, and Chocolate Fudge Banana Cake! The cake turned out good, but you are posta freeze it so the bananas don't turn colors and so it wasn't thawed quick enough for the kids to eat it so they took it home with them.

So as soon as it was done we left to go to Lagoon. We didn't even clean up! *Why am I sharing that? lol. But I was feeling so flu-ish and yucky. The thought of riding a ride or the smell of the rides made me so sick, so I dropped Mike off and went to visit my mom with MiKaylah. I stayed there and slept for a few hours and met up with the group at 5ish. I stayed in Kiddie Land for almost the entire time. I did go on Wicked (My absolute favorite) and Colossus but that was my limit! I was back to Kiddie Land after that, and it was fun to be there with my kids and see them having fun.

We bounced back for the very next day and Devin & Becky and Max & Lina joined our group. It was a blast of a day! It rained for maybe a half hour, which kept people from coming that day and so it was pretty great! The lines were shorter and we were able to ride awesome rides over and over!.

Eliannah's favorite ride was the Odyssey. She loved spraying people. She also asked over and over again to ride the whale ride (Whales were her favorite animal last year, before it became frogs) We kept telling her, "Later." So I made it a priority to go off with her just the two of us and she rode that ride over and over again. She HAD to ride in the #4 whale because she is 4! :) She makes me smile!

Tsadakah desperately wanted to ride the Wicked and we put her biggest shoes on her and did her hair big, but they still wouldn't let her on the ride. :( She was pretty disappointed, but she handled it well. Jaxton, who is tall enough didn't have the desire to go on the big rides so the two of them were inseparable! I am glad that he wanted to stay with her cause I was worried that he would be riding the big ones. She did get to go on the White Roller Coaster, which is her favorite..."until she is old enough to go on the Wicked." She is so BRAVE!

All in all it was a memorable weekend and we had so much fun! We also loved the new ride, can't remember what its called, but it really feels like you are flying!! FUN.

PreSchool

Eliannah is a preschooler now! Goodness where has time gone? I still have Tsadakah's preschool picture on my computer and it feel like it was just yesterday, and now my Ellie is going.
She was so darn excited to go. I went and did her hair and then while I was talking to Mike she went into the garage and put her helmet on like a backpack. lol She still had an hour before time to leave.
She is so beautiful! I am so glad that she is my daughter! I feel very close to her and I believe that she will go far and accomplish great things.
her favorite show is Dora. Her favorite color is purple. She likes to and is good at singing songs, writing and "being beautiful." When she grows up she wants to be a Princess Mermaid. Her favorite thing to do at school is write her name. Her favorite toy is her tiny Ariel.

The Winds of Change

I have been doing a lot this summer and early fall. I feel busy all the time. I'm not sure that all that I have heaped upon myself i can handle. I really don't mean this to be a sob story, cry for help, or pity me, I'm just trying to sort out my Good, Better, and Bests.

My calling at church is Enrichment leader. In a nutshell, I plan get together, a.k.a, parties, which can uplift and strengthen women. I love my calling and I feel that I have it for the right reasons. In September we did a Secret Sister event, where everyone was expected to do 3 secret acts of kindness for their sister. I really loved the result! It was so nice to see inactive sisters there participating. We all got together and had a bonding night. It was so fun to get to know each of God's daughters in this ward better. Now I am constantly working on the Super Saturday, which is a big project and the women I have chosen to work with are fabulous! They have been there for me 100%. They have helped me and done everything I asked. I love it.

I have also started teaching Yoga classes MWF at our church. I love doing it because I feel better myself, I help others get healthier, and I exercise balance in my own life and meditation, which I think helps me mentally so I don't lose my temper as much.
Fascinating Womanhood classes. I started reading this book when I was 15 and it has meant so much to me over the years. I decided to teach a study group and I had 8 women sign up. I was so impressed and grateful for the support I had. They have all expressed their appreciation for the book and have had great success stories of strengthening their marriages. I love sharing what I love!

I started a health and weight loss challenge. I set my goals really high. I shot for the stars hoping to lose 2lbs per week. I worked really hard and I have learned so much about myself and what kind of self control I have. It has really inspired me and I want to stay consistent with the things that I have learned. You could do it too! I lost a total of 8.5lbs in 8 weeks! so excited about that! I had to work really hard at it and some days it seemed like all I could think about. But that we really just me heaping it on top of myself.

And the SPCA. I love doing this and so far it hasn't been too much work, but there are some things that I have dropped the ball on and I feel bad about that. I feel great to be a part of something to do with the community, and planning parties with someone Else's money, what could be better? I love my role there and things so far have gone smoothly.
I am feeling a change in my stage. Not so young and stuck at  home to napping schedules. My kids are getting older and more capable. So is all of this change in stages of life, or is it me taking on more than I can handle? I don't want to neglect the basic things, like my family! Which I have felt I have done these last 2 weeks. So how do I balance it all? I want to feel the peace and harmony in my life that I feel when I look at these pictures.

Back To School Pirate Party

Michael wants to keep building on to this clubhouse year after year, adding a slide, swings, a plank to walk off onto a trampoline, etc... Which means that it is never really finished. But for this year it is got al that we can give it. I wanted to have a party to break it in. and since all summer the girls and I have been referring to it as the Pirate Ship, I made the party a Pirate theme.

Mike and I filled 3 bags of water balloons which filled 2 ice chests and a bucket. It took 2 hours to do and my fingers were numb! It took the kids about 15 minutes to burn through them. lol.
Mike was awesome. He got right in there and was throwing balloons, dodging, taunting, and when the water balloons were all gone, he got out the hose. "If anyone isn't wet Im going to soak em! No body's leaving here dry." hahaha I love that he ca be a big kid sometimes. He is so perfect at balancing moments of responsibility and moments of fun and care free.
These stinkers thought that they had the advantage, being higher, until Mike pulled out the other balloons from the deck and leveled the playing field. :)

Look at how wasteful! Dropping 3 balloons at once! Poor unsuspecting Tsadakah!
Oh, but then again they didn't break! she just looks like the Easter Bunny Laying eggs. lol
So glad that my friend, Joanna, was able to come from Tooele with Abby and Magnus.
Don't pick on the little guys!
 Be Aggressive! Be be aggressive!

After the water balloon frenzy died down I had planned a snack. i asked each child to bring one fruit, which I cut up and put into what we called Fruity Bootee. Really yummy stuff in there.
Some of the kids would rather sit in a Dead Man's chest. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
Tsadakah making her pirate face. Arggg!
When snack time was over we had some crafts. We made pirate patches, masks, and colored some flags. *I found this Large coloring activity book at Dollar Tree which was all Pirate! FUN.

 The patches were the favorite!
